Injection moulding machinery producing plastic packaging for food and drink industry
Project:
Interim Storage and relocation of plastics machinery as part of production restructure
Case Study:
The restructuring project necessitated storage into Merritts warehouse facilities and relocation of production machinery. The phased project comprised:
Disposal of redundant machinery: Following disconnection of services and draining of drum oils, Merritts were required to remove machines from site and transport to a ferrous waste recycling site.
Internal repositioning of machinery: Machine moves were scheduled and executed through a process of jacking and skating to avoid any disruption to ongoing production.
Transportation of machines to other sites: Machines destined for our customers other facilities in Nottinghamshire were disconnected, dismantled and removed from the production areas.
Interim storage: To enable well timed integration of machinery into other sites, Merritts provided a short term storage facility. All warehouses have full heating and are fitted with intruder alarms with fixed land line and GSM notification to local police. There is access controls on all gates and doors and round the clock CCTV monitoring. Security is always an important factor when considering where to store expensive machinery our customer was extremely satisfied with the safety measures implemented by Merritts.
